“Universe”
Javad Alimohammadi Ardakani Solo Exhibition
Curator: Foad Najmedin
A child amid the desert, experiencing a feeling of flabbergast blended with the fear of an abundance of luminous masses collapsing through the sky in his dreams. Up to that time, this fear brimming with wonder is reinterpreted on square canvases and passed the obscurity of the universe that its magical gravitation devours one’s imagination, through the filter of beauty to elicit the sublime experience for the audiences. The etymology of universe is rooted in universum (all things, as a whole), and Javad Alimohammadi’s《Universe》 collection ostensibly depicts this concept abstractly, though figurative and dharmic (the regulated orders of the universe). This visible hemisphere of the occurrence of universe events in his works highlights the limitation of each imagination in comprehending the vastness of the infinite world, and its spectator is compelled to float in the boundless expanse of space-time.
Opening: Dec 13th to Jan 3rd 16 to 20 PM (Closed on Saturdays)
