به بهانه ی بزرگداشت مترجم و نویسنده معاصر «نجف دریابندری»
” جز نویسندگان بزرگی چون محمد علی جمالزاده که به مخاطب فارسی‌نویسی، هوشنگ گلشیری و محمود دولت‌آبادی که به مخاطب زبان می‌آموزند، بخشی از نثر امروز فارسی ساختهٔ مترجمان خوب است؛ چراکه با ترجمهٔ انبوهی آثار در زمینه‌های مختلف فلسفه، علوم اجتماعی و داستان بخش بزرگی از زبان ما را ساخته‌اند و حتی می توان گفت که زبان روایت فارسی از ترجمه شکل گرفته‌است.
در واقع مترجمان خلاق علاوه بر استفاده از ادبیات کلاسیک فارسی، برابرهایی متنوع ساخته و در حد توانشان روش‌های واژه‌سازی نوینی را در پیش گرفته‌اند.”

* نجف دریابندری بی‌شک بازسازی تعریف صحیحی از یک مترجم است. اگر بخشی از رسالت مترجم آن باشد که جهان ذهن ما را با جهان ذهن‌هایی از اقصی نقاط این کره‌ی خاکی پیوند بزند؛ دریابندری حلقه‌ی مهمی در این زنجیره‌ی پیوند است.
