“Further Than The Wound”
Naghmeh Shahdipour
Curator: Zahra Safaee
At the end of expansion, there is death; just as stars reach their maximum expansion coinciding with their decline. Humanity multiplies in time and space through death. In the works of Naghmeh Shahdpour, this fragmentation brings forth the absence of a complete form, and it is only through multiplicity in time and space that the lost pieces can be partially recovered. The transformation of wounds into an accumulation of bone fragments in Naghmeh Shahdpour’s works, which are created with pieces of fabric, waste, and metal meshes, arises from the overflow of social suffering and collective emotions. She speaks of decay and painful destruction while standing at the center of life.
Opening: May 2nd to 16th
